A few days have past since I fought the vampire, I needed find out why the vampire's where being less careful and killing in plain sight, where they getting desperate for food was the hunger taking over. I had to find out. I grabbed my hat and coat and braved the winters cold air.
I resided in London the smell of rat excrement filled the dark dank streets, ladies of the night echoed down the cramp streets like a choir of succubi.
I decided to visit a, lets say friend of mine yes friend that will do. I walked the twisting alley ways only stopping to get my bearings my friend didn't like people knowing where she lived and living amongst the maze like London alley ways is a good way of not being found. I finally gazed upon the doorway where she resided old cracked wood splintered forth like a forest of needles, I reached into my pocket and pulled out a pocket watch placing it up against the door, the hands started spinning wildly only coming to a stop when I moved the watch around the door, finally the hands stopped spinning and I heard a click then a creek as the door slowly opened I returned the watch to my pocket and entered the home.
Every time I come here there is even more curious items and artifacts of what I assumed are great wealth. the hallway leads to a circular room with a desk at the far end sitting at the desk with her feet up was my friend, her name is Eliza she is twenty seven with deep red hair which runs down her back like a cascading waterfall, her skin is pale with a porcelain like complexion her eyes are bright green and if she wills it you can be hypnotised by her beauty she is a mousy character with a soft voice and a welcoming presence in the murky sea of whores and murderers.
"Regnum, how nice of you to come visit me, to what do I owe this pleasure" she asks as she sits upright in her chair. To which I retort, "why to gaze upon your infinite beauty my lady" tipping my hat in respect.
"Oh really Regnum is that all" is her hasty reply
"Well mostly yes..."
"I always know you have more reasons to see me than you say" she interrupted.
"Your wit is as sharp as your tongue Eliza, and of course you are correct I am here for information"
"What kind of information" she reluctantly replies.
"Information regarding the recent vampire attack, it was right in the open there could have easily been witnesses they are becoming careless and it worries me."
"Well it should worry all of us, this is all I know, whispers from high command mention that vampires are being impatient and the food is getting snapped up faster than we can deliver it, we have had a working truce for many years it was simple, we provide food, and we don't make their breed extinct, but they have killed around ten hunters in the past 3 years and i can only assume, feel their time on this god forsaken planet living in the shadow's of men should come to an end."
She voiced concern and it sent a shiver down my spine.
"Well my lady this cannot happen we must train hunters quicker, the vampires seemed more skilled than I can remember, they can now manipulate the elements and we must counter!" I said angrily.
Before Eliza could reply I heard a scream from the other side of the massive wooden door, then to my amazement the door contorted and creeked like it was being sucked into a black hole, it then shattered and once the dust and debris cleared there was a hulking figure of a man with a woman's head grasp in its left hand the expression on her face was sheer horror, then the figure walked into Eliza's home, slowly took its right hand and placed its finger on the lips of the woman's head and just said.
"Shhhhhhh"
